TOUR WITH SASHA VELOUR

Sasha Velour is seeking an experienced Lighting, Video/Projection, and Audio technicians to join the 2026 Spring European Tour of her new one person show, “Travesty”. The tour opens May 2nd in Vienna and closes June 12th in Seville. This will be followed by potential opportunities for future touring in the US and Canada this fall/winter (schedule forthcoming).

This production travels via sleeper bus and plays a new city for every show. Tour averages 4 shows per week over 6 weeks of tour. Full schedule at sashavelour.com

LIGHTING
DUTIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Collaborate with the lead artist and other creatives to realize the artistic concepts of the production and execute the lighting in a variety of venues.

  • Coordinate lighting rental needs for the production, including obtaining quotes from vendors, organizing transport, delivery, install, and return of equipment in association with the Producer and Company Manager.

  • Review venue plots and integrate show plot with theatre rep plots

  • Draft light plot and accompanying lighting paperwork for each venue

  • Attend production meetings

  • Oversee load in and strike of the lighting package in each venue. Working with local crew on set up, cabling, addressing, and focus.

  • Must have technical knowledge of EOS consoles. Lighting Supervisor will serve as board programmer; strong programming skills required, including with moving fixtures.

  • Work closely with Video and Sound to be sure all lighting/sound/video are cued correctly

  • Lighting head serves as followspot operator while on tour.

  • Maintain the operation and organization of all lighting equipment

  • Generate necessary documentation for the success of the production which may include system layout, manuals, cue lists, etc.

  • Reports to Producer and Director with daily check ins

VIDEO/PROJECTION
DUTIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Collaborate with the lead artist and other creatives to realize the production's artistic concepts and execute the video design in a variety of venues.

  • Coordinate video rental needs for the production, including obtaining quotes from vendors, organizing transport, delivery, install, and return of equipment in association with the Producer and Company Manager.

  • Draft video plots for each venue

  • Attend production meetings

  • Oversee load in and strike of the video package in each venue. Working with local crew on set up, cabling, focus, etc.

  • Must be highly adept in Isadora software and have a working knowledge of Qlab; Video Supervisor will serve as primary Isadora programmer.

  • Set up video mapping for ~6 surfaces

  • Set up livestream equipment used in performance (show travels with a Hollyland Pyro S 4K)

  • Work with Head of Sound to network all computers and devices for show control automation together using OSC Control

  • Generate necessary documentation for the success of the production which may include system layout,  manuals, cue lists, etc.

  • Maintain the operation and organization of all video equipment

  • Assist with video recordings such as those used in projected content in the production, as needed 

  • Assist in the daily build and strike of projection screens

  • Reports to Producer and Director with daily check ins

AUDIO
DUTIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Collaborate with the lead artist, sound designer, and other creatives to realize the artistic concepts of the production and execute the sound design in a variety of venues.

  • Coordinate audio rental needs for the production, including obtaining quotes from vendors, organizing transport, delivery, install, and return of equipment in association with the Producer and Company Manager.

  • Attend production meetings

  • Oversee load in and strike of the audio package in each venue. Working with local crew on set up, cabling, etc.

  • Maintain the integrity of the sound design and audio levels in each venue to create a high quality of audio for the show using a variety of equipment (not traveling show package outside of two microphones).

  • Supervise the load-in and strike of the sound plot, including comm system, in each venue (monitors for performer, 2-4 effects speakers, two microphones)

  • Coordinate with the Director to establish specialty sound positions, such as integrated speakers or microphones within props

  • Must be highly adept in Qlab software; Audio Supervisor will serve as primary Qlab programmer and audio operator during performances

  • Setup OSC protocol and network control computers for show automation

  • Work closely with Producer to source appropriate rental package

  • Generate necessary documentation for the success of the production which may include system layout, manuals, cue lists, etc.

  • Maintain the operation and organization of all audio equipment, including microphones

  • Assist with audio recordings such as those used in voiceover content in the production, as needed 

  • Reports to Producer and Director with daily check ins

PAY:
$1,500 USD per week + per diem. Housing on the bus.

Travesty traces the secret queer history of a single spot throughout time — A witch burns in a field; a clown builds a theater; an underground gay bar rises up against the police. As Velour embodies different characters through a series of jaw-dropping lip-syncs, she invites the audience to take part in the cycle of existence, resistance, and camp that IS drag.
